Landscape Studies

A running series of small watercolour studies drawn from landscape: overlapping mounds, ridges and the edges where water meets land. Colour is built in washes and left to settle where it wants to, so the paper's texture stays part of the picture. Made first as paintings in their own right, and the place where colour, rhythm and repeat are tested for future surface work.
